1. R&D Achievements

Developed indigenous tunnelling technology for prediction of ground conditions
Application of rock mass classification for squeezing ground conditions
Rock mass damage assessment in tunnels due to blasting
Indigenously developed high temperature testing chamber
Developed Site Selection Rating (SSR) for the Underground storage of oil and its products

2. Technological Solutions to Industry

Provided expertise for tunnel support design and evaluation
Tunnel feasibility study and complete package for the construction of underground structures
Specialized rock testing and rock slope stabilisation
Blast vibration monitoring and controlled blasting techniques for tunnels & open excavations
MoUs signed with M/s. Indic Geo Resources Pvt. Ltd. (IGRL) and Chandan steel Ltd. for (i) Deep Seated Mining of Potash in Rajasthan as Import Substitute Fertilizer Mineral and (ii) Underground Mining of Non-Radioactive Rare Earth Elements Minerals in Rajasthan.

Two Doctoral degrees awarded recently from IIT Roorkee
CIMFR work on tunnelling technology found place in BIS codes
